About Breakout
Breakout is one of the most iconic arcade games in history. Play this pixelated, neon-lit version online for free, right in your browser, with no downloads or sign-up required.
The mechanics are simple: a paddle, a ball, and rows of colorful blocks. The rebound angle depends on where the ball hits the paddle, allowing you to aim for corners and build a high score. The ball speeds up after each stage, increasing the challenge.
Tip: try opening a gap along one of the sides and sending the ball above the blocks—it will bounce around on its own and earn you lots of points. Your high score is saved in your browser.
